German grammar: gefallen · finden · würde gern
gefallen (to please) takes the dative: Das Hotel gefällt mir. The thing you like is the subject, so the verb agrees with it. finden takes the accusative: Ich finde den Film gut. Use würde gern for wishes, and lieber and am liebsten for preferences.
